A page projects that I’ve made that’s non-commercial which I like. These can be side projects, game jam games and anything cool I made during University.

SUPER OCTAGON for Yogscast Jingle Jam 2020

I think the inspiration for this game is fairly obvious. I’d just found Brackey’s Super Hexagaon video and thought I’d figure out how to make it octagonal (wasn’t hard). Then I just tried to make it as juicy as I could and find some music to fit.

Hive Mind for GMTK Game Jam 2019

A puzzle platformer made for Mark Browns game jam. Nothing too notible in terms of the making process for this one, other than many hours of sleep were lost, but the outcome was probably one of my favourite game jam games to date. From this I learnt that crafting puzzles is something I very much enjoy and working on this further someday might be something I’d want to do. Obviously, selling puzzle games on steam isn’t exactly the smarted choice financially but we’ll see.

Someone even made this little report card for us which was pretty neat. 54/2610 for design isn’t too bad, ignoring the voting drama that surrounded the jam.

+Y my first game

Back in 2017 I decided that I needed to create a game before heading off to university. At the time I thought that if I could make something small beforehand, it’d put me in a good position to make something commercially before leaving and thus would be a good path to becoming an indie developer. So equipped with my HTC Vive in my parents garage I set out to make a VR game. I think it would’ve been VRTK I was using for the interaction and made a basic climbing game. The basic loop was you’d start at the bottom of a pillar and must climb these red boxes to the top whilst avoiding the rising green gloop. As you progressed through levels there’d be more traps to avoid as you climb. The game timed each attempt and would compare them against my time for the level.
